Halifax 57 Rescue (Canada)
U.S. Citizens serving in the RCAF WWII
As the Second World War unfolded, over 8,000 citizens from the United States of America saw fit to help in the fight against world wide tyranny. Before the U.S. had formally entered the war, these valiant souls traveled to Canada to enlist in the Allied war effort.
Many U.S. citizens who enlisted in the RCAF died while fighting for our freedom. The following lists were researched and constructed by 57 Rescue Canada. The first, the Roll of Honour, lists over 700 who died while serving in the RCAF. The second lists over 100 who were killed-in-action while flying Halifax bombers for the Canadian air force. Every state in America is represented (48 states in 1945).
